Closed SebastianPlace closed 7 years ago

SebastianPlace commented 7 years ago

The placeholder search query in the search bar should be randomly chosen from the following set:

title:cancer description:glioblastoma

(tissue:brain OR tissue:cortex) description:methylation

"oxidative stress" assay:RNA-Seq

access:Open description:sleep

(ALS OR "Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis" OR MND) (assay:WGS OR assay:RNA OR assay:sequencing) NOT datasource:SRA

ethnicity:asian NOT cancer

Caucasian sex:female

@cwhicher What's the priority for this? It will take ~2hrs to implement and test.

cwhicher commented 7 years ago

I'll get back to you after speaking to @adrianalexa

cwhicher commented 7 years ago

might be interesting to add these to show other predicates

ethnicity:asian NOT cancer

Caucasian sex:female

adrianalexa commented 7 years ago

I would remove the search with just cancer. It will be good to have some easy to type searches that don't include predicates.

Is there a search related to 23andMe data? that can lead to some of the datasets? How about Simon diversity project?

cwhicher commented 7 years ago

To make these searches really good, to direct to great data and emphasize our search engine, I would need to spend more than 10mins thinking about them. So I will put some time aside in the next few days to do that.

@cwhicher How about to go with this list for now and we can update it next week. And then the week after that. It's already much better than what we have already
