Closing down the API's and Soonaverse #182

This week we're approaching end of the platform support as discussed several weeks back.

There will have to be several events triggered to finalize closure of Soonaverse and all related API's as SoonLabs is no longer able to support cost of these services. We're not able to pay Google, Algolia's and so on bills therefore we're unable to keep the services up. There are no funds! Any team member has not received any salary since last year...Note, last year salary was always going towards dev team so other members were without salary during many months last year as well! We continued to cover operation costs up to now. This includes legal, accounting, infrastructure, taxes and so on. Even with these massive constrains we continually developed until the end of April this year to make everything open source and finalize L1 tooling we were asked to build back in 2021.

If any entity comes along by EOW we can handover Google project we're happy to do so. This entity would have to take over Google Cloud, Algolia and Github billing. SoonLabs is closing down and it's unable to receive cash to cover those bills. Those accounts must be handover to billing contacts on Google, Algolia and Github! If not, export of DB will be included in this issue for anyone to load the DB, set-up the ENV and turn on Soonaverse again.

This week we will trigger following:

I wish everyone all the best and I hope #IOTA / #SHIMMER will see activity and empowered community we saw back in early 2022. Soonaverse platform funded many projects in the #IOTA community through NFT marketplace. It was over $10m USD in a span of few months that all went to artists and projects owners. This includes delivering full integration into Stardust after that so these assets can exists on L1. SoonLabs didn't charge any fees! We're proud of that and glad too see many of these projects flourishing to continue drive #IOTA forward.

I'll continue to be cheerleader on the side and support #IOTA in my spare time when I can especially once IOTA 2.0 is live and L1 SC ready!

hi, can you also pls solve this issue? i cancelled an order but the remaining funds never got returned (approx 2000$). i think this should be handled in a correct fashion before closing shop.

If we can't fix it by eow, your funds are not lost. We can always handover mnemonics to "responsible party" that can distribute these locked funds securely. They are not lost, they're just stuck. So to be clear, even if Soonavere shutdown those funds are not lost, they're just stucked and can be retrieved via mnemonics or through someone else operating the platform afterwards.

i see but in the event that nobody takes over these funds are lost which is a risk imo. so i would be grateful if you can take care of this before you close shop. i think a manual transaction can solve this fairly easy. if you need additional details please let me know. thanks.

Hi @adamunchained , I'm trying to mint my spaces NFTs to IOTA but although the tx send is confirming in Firefly the Soonaverse UI doesn't confirm the receipt and the option to Mint to Decentralised network remains available. Unfortunately nobody has came forward to help cover the bills therefore we will proceed this Sunday 7th of July with shutting down most of the services. This will not yet include APIs. These will be subsequently shutdown during the next week.

We are yet trying our best to help on executing stuck transactions and hopefully we will be able to help and resolve this.

When having quite few NFTs still left on Soonaverse (especially the L1 NFTs, e.g. Shieweas), should we withdraw them now or will you take care and do this automatically? What would you advise us to do?

And one question about staking. What should we do to get the staked and locked Soon & rewards back?

Your locked soon is in your wallet. Not in Soonaverse. If you have any unclaimed SOON, just claim it.

There is an issue with transactions being stuck as mentioned above. We are trying our best to help the community and unstuck those transactions.

We are also looking into triggering mass withdraw (as mentioned above) of all assets from Soonaverse L1 addresses into users and spaces validated wallet address.

Okay, from this I conclude that I should do nothing more than wait for you to withdraw my NFTs. I also assume that my Soon token will remain locked and I will not receive any further staking rewards. That's a shame, but not as a big deal as the tokens are worthless anyway. Thank you!
