What other emulators? The NES and SNES ones work, but there's nothing else for
N64
afaik..

Did you set up the folders as described in the README?

Original comment by tehp...@gmail.com on 20 May 2009 at 6:06

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Yes...

# ROMs in a directory named N64ROMS in the root directory,
# Create a directory for saves named N64SAVES in the root directory

And I tried Mario Kart 64, which is on the compatibility list.

This is immediately when press "Load from SD Card", not when you select a ROM
from
the list, correct? Also, you are using an SD card in the front slot? If so, it
could be a libfat issue, and you might have to wait for the next release which
will
hopefully have an improved libfat.

it could also be that the emulator is still in alpha? I mean it has been a year
since the last release according to the downloads page.

same error

- Not sure, I think it´s when I hit Load after selecting the actual game...
Been
playing the new punch out, I´ll check and will let you know.

- Yes.

I'd like to chime in that I have this same exact problem. I have the program
installed on the front SD card. When I try to access the roms for this program
I goto
Load ROM > Load from SD card and I get the message, "An Error had Occured" and
that's
it.

I have the same problem. It doesn't show the ROMS at all. You click "load
ROM",
then click "Load from SD", then it says error. Is there another way to load
the ROMS?

I am also getting the same error. My Wii firmware is version 4.0 and I'm using

In addition my SD card is formatted to FAT32

Original comment by spinning...@gmail.com on 3 Jun 2009 at 12:10

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
i'm downgraded my 4.0 to 3.2, so i don't think that's the problem. My SD Card
is
FAT16 too, so i don't think that's it, unless there's problems using both of
those
formats

I solved the problem of Error Loading from SD
it must be something that has to do with HBC not sure

Boot HBC
Boot LoadMii ( brew prog)
Find Wii64 in apps
Boot Wii64 from there

go to load rom, directory in Sd card root pops up with all titles (like Sd card
D:\ )

THE ROMS ARE SLOW AS CRAP RUN in 4-25 FPS I booted Cruisin USA the screen was
1/5
size of my tv......booted Snowboard kids First screens ok then NO Picture

KEEP IT IN MIND and THANK YOU ALL WHO ARE IN NINTENDO SCENE MAKING THINGS
HAPPEN!
ALL YOU EFFORTS ARE APPRECIATED

I did the LoadMii fix, and it works, but it si rediculously slow, like
RickStudds
said. I tried playing Duke Nukem 64 or Doom 64 and I can see random giant
textured
shapes popping in and out fo existence, and no matter what I play I can't get
more
than 7 FPS. Is this normal? or is this an issue with LoadMii that doesn't
occur
with HBC?

sooo....if one of the creators happens to stop by and see this can you at least
let

Original comment by DamonBar...@gmail.com on 25 Jun 2009 at 1:20

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
An easy fix would be to download the latest version. The version listed here
isn't
the newest one, for some reason. I have successfully booted two Zelda games,
Banjo-Tooie, and Super Smash Bros. Granted, they are very slow, but they still
run.

NOTE-I had this same problem before I tried the latest version.

Lo7hero: Sorry for the ignorance, but where can we find the latest version?
None of
the downloads here have been updated past May 2008. Would it be possible to get
the
updated version in the Homebrew Browser?

Original comment by tonyr1...@gmail.com on 27 Jun 2009 at 5:47

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
You would have to download the source via a svn client like "rapid svn" and
compile it
using devkitpro. A tutorial on how to compile it can be found in the emulation
section
on gbatemp.net. Unfortunately the one on the homebrew browser is the same one
posted
here.

should mupen64.dol or mupen64-sft.dol work?

I loaded both of them via Load Mii (since they wouldn't show up in the HB
menu). THey
both did the same thing: after the load-up screen it goes to the the menu
screen but
the menu isn't there

Keep in mind, this is R475, the "latest in the repository", The authors are
most likely
far past this revision as they have made great progress with the dynamic
recompiler. As
they specified on Emulatemii.com, they will produce an actual beta version once
they
have a stable version with the dynarec functional.

The gln64 version doesn't load for me (I get to the spot where it would
normally show
the main menu, but instead I just see the background image and the logo on top.
My
remote gets disconnected (cannot reconnect) and I have to hold the Power button
to
turn off my Wii.

The gx version loads for me, allows me to choose a ROM from my SD card, loads
the
ROM, but errors when I try to play it (GoldenEye 007). It just says "01 VI/s,
01 FPS"
and "At least 7452KB or 7MB space available". My controller is still connected,
but
no buttons work (even combos, like X+Y) and I have to hold the Power button to
turn
off my Wii.

I know that the ROM is good (I can use it on my PC). Any ideas why this could be
happening?

I will try to rebuild the GLN version, it might have not compiled correctly, as
for
goldeneye though, I have the same problem trying to play it, as do many other
people,
hopefully this will be fixed in the next revision.

How do I use those?

Original comment by davidmo...@gmail.com on 6 Jul 2009 at 12:54

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
You have to load them via homebrew channel. (in a folder on your sd card
\apps\wii64\ ,
make sure you rename it boot.dol, also make sure you have at the root of your
sd card
folders N64ROMS and N64SAVES, put your roms in the N64ROMS folder.

I tried them myself, the first one freezes before the menu loads, and the
second one
has a graphical glitch with the menu background and functionality wise seems to
work
the same as the GX version.

Yeah, that'd be great. I know this is one of those annoying n00by questions,
and I
don't mean to sound impatient (just curious), but is there any ETA on the beta
release?

Original comment by tonyr1...@gmail.com on 10 Jul 2009 at 12:29

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
It's done when it's done ;). The devs are working hard on Wii64 now (I hope at
least). They were occupied with school and work lately and that of course takes
priority. But, judging from the blogposts at emulatemii.com, they're working
full
time on it now.

Anyways, about Goldeneye, Banjo-Kazooie and other Rare games. It's been known
for
awhile now that every-single-game from rare uses some specialized chip in the
cartridge, unique for each game (or at least, that's what I understand). That's
why
the emulator has trouble running Rare games. Even when the beta comes out, it
isn't
very likely that Rare games will run.

hi there
I have the same problem with the n64 emulator,
when I want to load the files it's says "an error has accured"
What can I do about it?

The I have another question I'm not sure that this is the right topic but I'm
going
to try it. I also have the wiiSX emulator for playstationgames. The games are
loading fine but when I'm in the middle of the game and I want to quit I can
only
paused the game, but I can't go back to the map to save or quit the game. Did I
do
something wrong? Did I forget to install something? Can you please help me
solve
this problem.

Some people say they can get passed this problem with "loadmii", you can also
try
another version of the software (wii64_gx seems to work ok). As for Wiisx I
have yet to
try it out (Sorry), although it was posted on emulatemii.com that the GUI is
non-
existant so there might be no way to exit other than restarting your wii.

Original comment by allterra...@aol.com on 10 Jul 2009 at 9:29

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I read somewhere that Rare Games use Different microcodes to render whats
called "tiny
Textures" which is why Rare games tend to have better graphics than other N64
games, in
games such as Super Mario 64 the developers would stretch textures to cover
larger
area's on the screen which would cause graphical issues (Things looking
blurred). In
Rare games such as Donkey Kong 64 things look a little more Defined.
