This may change your results. The logic in these filter conditions were not clear so maybe filter didn't filter as you might have expected. I interpreted your logic, in for example the sex conditions, as "one sex by one condition OR the other sex by another condition". If that is correct, you need to include the () around the sex by condition logic.

All of these functions are actually deprecated... I've forgotten to remove them 😕 Nice catch though!
