Saving draft is reloading the entire page

I once installed a plugin which binds "Ctrl+S" to "saving draft" action, and I realized that the entire page was reloaded - which is not compatible with a quick save keyboard shortcut :D

When I deactive WP-Markdown, page is not reloaded (with or without this saving plugin).

I looked on the Network tab of Firebug (webdev Firefox extension), and I saw this:

• without WP-Markdown : a POST to http:///wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is fired, page is not reloaded.
• with WP-Markdown : a POST to http:///wp-admin/post.php with 302 Moved Temporarily, then a GET to http:///wp-admin/post.php?post=&action=edit&message=10, then page is reloaded - I can tell this because the Network tab is emptied.

Is this a feature, am I missing something?
