Corrupted saves upon restoring #3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Back up a gamesave to SD.
2. Delete that save in memory card.
3. Restore the backed up save to memory card.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see the same file. Yet instead what I would have is a
corrupted save, both in the app and the save manager in Wii. Game doesn't
load save.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The game was "Tales of Symphonia".
The memory card is a cheapo 128MB bought from dealextreme

Please provide any additional information below.
-I haven't try other memory cards.
-Saves obtained from gamefaqs.com do not work either.
-Backing up saves works; it's just upon restoring the save becomes corrupt.
The "D" serial numbers (the serial found below the game name in the app,
checksum?) of the backed up save and the restored save do not match (from a
leading 1 serial number to a 4xxxxxxx... ).
-Used NuGaSa, exact same thing happens. Although... I'm not sure what
happened but it worked once with the game "Fire Emblem" but then after that
it doesn't work anymore.
-Other than this the memory card works fine under normal condition.

More info:
-I analysed the restored save (by back uping it to the SD) and what happens was
that
95% of the content was garbaged. To be exact, every byte after offset x40 are
F,
every single one of them.
-Beside GCMM and NuGaSa, I've also tried Gamecube Saver. It refused to write
to the
mem card by displaying an error message and then hang up.

I can confirm there are problems restoring saves. When I tried to restore Fire
Emblem
PAL and then check the save in the Wii's data manager, the icon was missing and
the
description showed up as lots of vertical bars. However, the game appeared to
load
the save file anyway.

There are legitimate issues with restoring PAL saves.

also exported PAL saves may not work in dolphin due to the bytes at 0x00000007
being incorrect in some games.

Is there any save that ALWAYS fails to restore?

I've tested luigi's mansion and Tales of Symphonia, all working with r21, both
tested with official card.

Particularly Tales of Symphonia savegame was a downloaded from gamefaqs and
converted from USA to PAL before restoring, it worked correctly (it was a
before end of game savegame with everything 9999 and so on)

Seems fixed to me.
