Solution for BUG#92 #96

The only problem was the misleading instructions in the README. In the generated configuration file, there is no default value for the METADATA_TOPICS configuration key, so it should be configured manually. Setting the environment variables for this during the startup does not have any affect, so I have removed it from the instruction.

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been able to review pull requests in a while. Those variables aren't working, so if there's an issue with them, I think it'd be better to fix that than just remove them from the documentation. This might be related to #98...
