This module is not working at the moment and needs a complete rewrite. I don't plan to do that at the Moment, but that might change.

Roll20 NPC Importer, for 5e

A module for FoundryVTT, used to import DND5e NPC sheets from the popular Roll20 application. Only works for 5e NPC characters that use the OGL or Shaped sheet version.

Installation

  1. Copy this link and use it in Foundrys Module Manager to install the Module

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/syl3r86/roll20npcimporter/master/module.json

  2. Enable the Module in your Worlds Module Settings

You'll see this button in the actors list after correctly installing the module.

npc import button

If it doesn't show up make sure you are the GM of the game. If you are, and it still won't show up, feel free to contact me. A common misconception is that the FVTT Enhancement Suit by Sillvva adds an import and export button as well, but these do not work with Data from Roll20.

Instructions to import NPCs from Roll20

  1. Have the browser plugin VTT Enhancement Suit (https://ssstormy.github.io/roll20-enhancement-suite/features.html)
  2. Open the Roll20 game containing the NPC and open the sheet
  3. Use the export function in the "Export and Overwrite" tab
  4. Select the .json file(s) you wish to import
  5. press import

Advanced Options

If you encounter any issues, contact me in discord (Felix#6196) or per email (syl3r31@gmail.com). Make sure to include the .json file of the character that causes the issue, if applicable.

Big thanks to Atropos for troubleshooting and Sillvva for providing a good example with the DNDBeyond importer.
