I deleted rip record and installed the pilfer. The only thing it will do is allow me to play content with mpv now using the play button. I can't record or get the url so I'm not exactly sure how to use the pilfer. I don't know what channel to put in and I can't grab the url to try in the Pilfer-TS .m3u slot. I know this is still being tested so if you need me to try something or send you info, I can do that.

Im running it on a 32 bit system. I tried http://smashtv.ddns.net:9090/load/f05998e175bc/265.m3u8 and http://tvkings.vodiptv.org:83/live/SteveTurman/ste745621/ 67609.ts. and both im guessing not working . The command prompt pops up so quick the only thing i see was a -h on one line and the second line is has -i. But in kodi it working.

could you try recording those links on the cmd line that way we can see if there is an issue with recording with gui

to record on the cmd line it just like rip-record except you need to run pilfer -i and the the url

open a cmd prompt and run

pilfer -i http://smashtv.ddns.net:9090/load/f05998e175bc/265.m3u8

then try the other link

pilfer -i http://tvkings.vodiptv.org:83/live/SteveTurman/ste745621/

then see if the link is the same or not if its different saving from kodi then check if you can record on the cmd line

the second link isnt playing in kodi and i try using the save url in kodi and it did not work either. But i tried another link (SAVE URL) in kodi and it worked. Im gonna try the url that worked inside the gui and see if it works.

the first link didnt, the working one, did not work in the gui, i just tried it. But on the command prompt did. in the guide i paste the whole link.

If i remember back in December last year Tr3mn8tor showed me how to do it manually record the link with the time and date(Schedule). But if we can figure out why its not working in the guide but in the command prompt. That would be a step ahead. That was with the window scheduler with a bat file.

the main thing is to get the installer working on windows can iron out gui recording issue later on

windows gui is an extra othere oses dont have a gui to record just kodi or cmd line

id just record from kodi or on the cmd line for the moment until the gui recording issues are ironed out

Hi Tr3mn8tor, I finaly got the pilfer working but was wondering if there a way to schedule a recording like you mentioned before to me awhile back with the bash rip-record file, but now since we are using pilfer -l, is there a different way to schedule a recording. I tried the gui app but it did not work.

hi all

managed to get screen recording working with windows 10 in a virtual machine

so i will be able to do video screen recording of the windows pilfer installer

had problems before with previous versions of win 10 needing too much ram so i couldnt a windows vm and ffmeg for the screen recording at the same time on one machine

but it seems ok now

will try and do videos tonight afterr midnight gmt in about 8 hours or so

but may not publish the videos until tomorow takes a while to write the video text do the thumbnails etc

Cool, I was playing around with pilfer and what t3rmn8tor showed me in December about schedule recording and i figure out. For A channel I had : bash rip-record http://smashtv.ddns.net:9090/load/f05998e175bc/372.m3u8 and I just switched bash rip-record to pilfer -i and of course it gotta be a bat file and use the task scheduler to make it run when it was time.

NapoleonWiloson, Im Happy to hear you got it running on windows 10. With the pilfer taking over for rip-record, i was wondering before you/ a person can configure to record to a different place instead of the desktop with rip-record but can ya do it with pilfer. I am having a blonde moment to find where the git folder is now since i switched to pilfer, cant find it in the home folder.

there isnt an option with pilfer to change the revording destination at the moment

there isnt a git folder like rip-record ill explain in windows video

but i wouldnt recommend trying to changevthe code because then you wont be able to update

Napoleon Wilson, Hi I was wondering what url did you put in the pilfer to test it to see if its working? Did you a url saved from kodi or something like this: http://smashtv.ddns.net:9090/load/f05998e175bc/9.m3u8. hi steve yes you must uninstall the old pilfer also uninstall python and completely fresh install pilfer

i have just tested http://smashtv.ddns.net:9090/load/f05998e175bc/9.m3u8 and it records fine just by copy and pasting the link directly into the gui and clicking record

pilfer installs python when it installs but the old pilfer used an different python version so python needs to be uninstalled first otherwise there will be a conflict

what you need to do is: 1 uninstall pilfer 2 uninstall python 3 uninstall python launcher 4 delete the pilfer installer 5 download the new version 6 run the installer 7 open pilfer-gui 8 click config tab 9 click configure pilfer

recording work without duration so to end the recording just close the terminal recording also work with duration schedules also work

as for android no wont work on android as that requires the app to be built as an apk and there are no plans to create an android app

When I type in pilfer in the command prompt it said: it is not recognized as a internal external command. and sorry I did not responded sooner, I was at work.

What I did is i unistalled the old pilfer and installed the new one and I tried it out with the schedule a date and time for it the way you showed me and it did not do anything.So what i did is unistalled it again and reinstall it and this what happened.

first one is the user variable and the second one is the system variables and thats with the pilfer folder in he program folder.
