As a stop-gap while we wait for the retirement of visafinder, I've added a quick note on MOEA-1: "⚠ Something strange is going on with this qualification at the moment. There has not been an official announcement, but applicants working for companies in certain industries are being rejected. You might want to call ahead."
The link I shared is the official announcement of this policy, is it not? They don't make it clear what changed, but the first criteria on the economy track has another bullet point added, and it's also reflected on the official web site: https://goldcard.nat.gov.tw/en/qualification/field-of-economy/
BTW I asked around and the "economic field" alluded to in that first point includes any industry mentioned in the 4th point ("semiconductors, optoelectronics", etc.).
Sorry, I was working quickly to get something added -I added a couple lines to the suggested documents as well.
When I refer to the official announcement it is about the industry restrictions : there is no official list, so that's the bad situation. Some people in the point 4 industries have been rejected, and some people not in that list have been accepted. Madness.
Visafinder is now retired (#198 ), so this is resolved - the official site will always be up-to-date with the latest.
Looks like some of the rules have changed but I don't see this reflected on the website today, particularly not in the "Taiwan visa finder" section. Since the economics track accounts for fully two-thirds of all GCs awarded thus far, it's probably important to mention changes to this qualifier in particular. No longer can someone qualify based on income alone; they must also show proof of working at an economics company or in the economics field.
