9 years ago This semester, we will put a strong emphasis on team work. So please bear with us as we try to push for more team working time in and outside the classroom.
We will change team assignments every two weeks. For the first half of the semester, the team assignment will be randomized. This will give everyone a chance to get to work with different people and learn different working styles.
Once we cross the half-way point, we will make teams that will stay together for the rest of the semester. At that time, you and people you want to work together can propose to be on the same team.
For this week, work with the team you worked with last week.. When we meet on Monday, you will do the hackathon together with this team. At the end of the hackathon, we will announce a new random team assignment for the subsequent two weeks.
In terms of team communication, you can use Github and issues to get hold of people.

Hi Tom/Mike,
I was curious - are the teams you reference in week 2 learning challenge the same teams we worked with the first week? I'm definitely down for collaboration but I'm pretty nervous about having to organize time with 5-6 people every week as schedules are drastically varying and inconsistent (remember trying to plan that meeting with you for the project, Mike?). If it is just an arbitrary group component I'd probably just work with my roommates (Peyman and Dawson) since it's significantly easier to find time with them. Otherwise, especially since we didn't have class Monday, I'm imagining we all need to do some serious organization as I don't have emails, phone numbers, etc. of my group members from week 1. Just still trying to figure out what your vision of this is.
