4-hyphens-in-title-->too-many?

P.S. love the slides: did you design the backgrounds yourself?

Is this comparing behavior before and after the abolishment of the one-child policy, or only after the policy was abolished?

Why your research questions are always so interesting? Do you have any advice for me?

@Fangfangwan 是商业互吹无误了

  • Nice research question, but what is your definition of "left over women"? Much of this must be endogenous which hinders interpretation
  • Good computational methods.
  • I like the combination of text analysis and machine learning.
  • Nice horse race, but I don't know how to compare regressor to classifier.

@rickecon

  1. The definition is Chinese women in their mid-20's to mid-30's who are not yet married. In my paper, I used the medium age (25 for female and 27 for male) at first marriage entry as a bar: late-marriage is defined as entering marriage after this medium age.
  2. I first used regressor (age~variables), and performed prediction on the held out data, but the predictions were doing badly. So I changed the question into a classification question: 0 for not marrying late, 1 for marrying late. The prediction on the held out data were doing much better.

@bensoltoff This is only after the policy was abolished.

@w4rner

  1. I would love to find an alternative way!
  2. I used a online platform called Prezi. It's a very useful tool for making slides.

@yilundai 1). Remind me of the title & I can suggest re-write.

2). I've used Prezi, but have shown in web browser. You can export as static pdf?
