The poster is a mandatory part of the master's thesis, and must be included in the submission of the thesis (ref. the regulations). This issue is about:
Adding instructions to the template regarding how the poster should be included.
Should we create a webpage where we collect all posters
Should the poster be included in the master's thesis PDF?
If so, should it be A4, A3 or some other format?
Or are there some other solution?
We should also include it as part of the grading, e.g., up to 5 points.
Below are some notes I made after the poster session, that I feel we should communicate to the students:
The poster should mainly be illustrations, diagrams, tables and plots etc.
Text should be bullet points and smaller snippets of text — not large swats of text — we want to encourage discussion rather than silent reading in public.
Text and figures/plots/tables etc should be readable from at least 2 meters distance.
We should provide the students with several great poster examples that they can take inspiration from. (Ideally, somewhat different designs, to avoid too much homogeneity.)
We could link to some YouTube videos that offer good advice for designing posters; I’ve seen a couple videos that I can try to find again.
