The on-open validator should report missing/blank ID fields #860

I found another problem that I think the on-open validator should catch, and that is missing ID's. The attached file has two rows in which incorrect tabs make it look like the ID is blank/missing. The validator reports this as a duplicate which is technically correct, but I think "missing" is more accurate.

related note, if too many column headers, an invalid character position is reported at position "NaN" (not a number)
