Tutoring App

The following app has the purpose of facilitating interactions between tutors and students. To implement this app, we will be utilizing the React Native framework.

Required dependencies:

Set Up (Windows):

  1. Install Dependencies
  2. Configure the ANDROID_HOME environment variable:
    • Create a new ANDROID_HOME user variable that leads to your Android SDK path.
    • Add the path to platform-tools
  3. Access the React Native Command Line Interface
  4. Prepare physical/virtual Android device
  5. Install all dependencies using Node Package Manager
    • Run the following command:
      • npm install
  6. Start Metro:
    • Run the following command on your React Native project folder:
      • npm start
  7. Run the application
    • Write the following command to start the application:
      • npm run android (if you want to use the android development simulator)
      • npm run web (if you want to test it on a web browser)
