Hi @woodgear! Local backgrounds can be CPU intensive, especially if hardware acceleration is disabled and/or the file size is mesured in Mb. From my experience with a low specs laptop, it can take a while to load.

If reducing the file size or checking if hardware accel is on doesn't do it, would you mind sharing your settings for me to reproduce the error ?

werid, i try to reduce my image from 5.8mb to 388kb,but still a flash of blackscreen
