From what I observed so far while testing VirtualMin 7.7 on a test server where I wanted to try out the cPanel migration feature,
In the vserver's settings > Server Configuration > Move Virtual Server, the "Move Virtual Server" menu item label is confusing because of this combination of factors:
It sounds a lot like "Transfer Virtual Server" a few entries down in the same menu
(Could "Transfer Virtual Server" be named "Export Virtual Server" instead? And/or use a tooltip to make it clearer?)
"Move Virtual Server" apparently means very different things with different vserver types:
On Top-level servers,
there is a "Move Virtual Server" menu item but it actually means "Convert to Sub-Server"... then shouldn't it be named exactly like that in the menu (and its page title)?
On sub-servers,
there is also a "Move Virtual Server" menu item but it actually means "Reparent or Convert to Top-level Server". Maybe it could be relabelled like that, or if you want a shorter form, "Reparent/Convert to Top-Level", maybe with a tooltip on hover that explains the dual functions found there?
On Alias vservers, you have:
"Convert to Sub-Server", which makes sense. I guess if I want to convert it to a top-level server, I need to convert it to a subserver first, and then tell it to convert to a top-level server. I'm OK with that.
"Move Virtual Server", which actually is... changing the alias' target! It doesn't have the ability to convert to a top-level server anyway, so could we relabel that to "Change alias target" or "Retarget alias"?
On "Virtual Sub-Domain" types of servers,
there is no "Move Virtual Server" menu item but a "Convert Virtual Server" menu item instead, which apparently acts as the same thing as the "Convert to Sub-Server" menu item found in Alias-type servers...
Is this "sub-domain" server type truly different from an alias, or it's just an erroneously labeled type?
"Virtual Sub-domain" servers apparently can't be created by the user in VirtualMin's menus, but they appear as a result of a cPanel import.
I did not see this type mentioned in the documentation, so it was very odd and confusing for me to discover this potential 4th server type tonight after a migration test from my old web host's cPanel.
In all cases, I think tooltips (maybe simply using the HTML's native title="the short tooltip contents" attribute on the hyperlinks?) on hover would be very beneficial.
