9 years ago This reveals a disconnect between that playlist video player and the vivelohoy.com web site.
The playlist video player is based on a Brightcove smart playlist of all videos with the "listo" tag. These videos don't necessarily have to have corresponding posts on the site. In fact, that video player knows nothing about vivelohoy.com and could be hosted anywhere.
At the same time, we have a custom plugin for WordPress that is checking the Brightcove API for videos that have the "listo" tag and creating a post for each one. These posts are not automatically published at the moment, remaining in Draft mode until someone manually publishes it.
What should the share link of a video from that home page playlist player actually link to? Should it take a visitor back to the home page, scroll to the playlist video player, and load that particular video? Or should it take a visitor to the post, if the post exists?
The share link on the playlist video player is fraught with complexities when we want to tie in traffic to vivelohoy.com.
On the home page is a Brightcove video playlist player. When getting the sharing link for a particular video, you get the Brightcove shortened URL:
This resolves to the home page (http://www.vivelohoy.com/) and does not link to the video directly.
There should be a way to get the sharing link so it links to the post that contains the video.
