rework of the single notebook is almost done see fix #130

Whats missing:

• [ ] links to RTD subchapters
• [ ] links to formatting functions (needs to be done after merge)
• [x] test fix #169 with 1 month force new results
• [x] remove storage duplicates

* The plots are arrange horizontally (when converted to HTML) which requires to scroll a lot. Can we somehow change this?
