[X] I have searched github.com/withfig/fig/issues and there are no duplicates of my issue
[X] I have run fig doctor in the affected terminal session
[X] I have run fig restart and replicated the issue again

Expected behaviour

To install fig

Actual behaviour

I tried the app it self and got this message:

Ran fig doctor to try and find a fix, but found no luck.

Hey guys - we've made a temporary change that disables new user sign ups as we push out some new functionality. Should have communicated this better. We should have it back online soon. Existing users are not affected. Really really sorry about this!

and then on 25/08 said they would have more updates on Monday (28/08).

Same issue here. Hope it will be fix soon as I'd like to test using Fig autocomplete. However, I'm disappointed to have to signup to use a such feature. A bunch of basis features without any account (and so without sync) will be more appreciated ;-)

I got this error inspite of tried to reload the app and signup with E-mail and GitHub both.

Requiring local cli features like autocomplete and script helpers to ping home to be setup is quite ridiculous. These should just be binaries that I can invoke myself via my shell's rc.

I saw a few things I thought were interesting and installed fig, then saw it wanted access to my GitHub account... I thought that's weird, I just want to run this software locally. I don't push my dot files up to GitHub - private or not!

Any update? I want to use fig? Since when during maintenance sign up and getting new users feature is disabled?

Is there a way for a work around to register? I'm waiting for almost a week in order to register

Same issue here. Nice first impression for Fig, not. First reaction; why do I need an account anyway? And after that it doesn't even work. No further explanation, nothing, just a black screen with an error message.
