Given that the user wants margins to change based upon odd or even numbering, to provide a 'gutter' space for the binding of the book.

User should be able to specify margins for the odd pages, while specifying different margins for the even pages so that when a print-pdf is printed and binded, there is adequate gutter space for the binding.

Consider using http://www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-the-pdf-toolkit/

Sort of a hack, but we could

create two documents, each with different margins
split them into individual pages
merge the even pages from one set with the odd pages from the second set into the final print-pdf

this issue is closed with the move to PrinceXML which handles left and right page attributes.
