Looks reasonable for a quick fix. Should we create an issue to try with conda@latest again when things get fixed? Or we can have it in matrix and let conda@latest fail?

I've made the issue, but I doubt we'll be using conda for long enough to need to do anything about it... https://github.com/wtsi-npg/npg_conda/issues/370
