Since October 2019 if you’re not logged into Instagram, you can only see a certain amount of posts on public profiles before being asked to log in.
Since November 2020 it became even more restrictive by redirecting (HTTP 302) to the login page.
Today we are at the point of we can only access 2 or 3 profiles before being blocked for 1 or 2 weeks.
So, when Instagram ask to login, the JavaScript Scraper is completely blocked, which means:
No more profile auto-update for existing companies
Form pre-fill is not available to create new company
The version 2.2 of Wuwana rely heavily on Instagram servers for many important things:
To identify a company the scraper internally use its Instagram profile URL as "ID card"
To display Instagram pictures we store and use Instagram static links, which are temporary
Instagram is used as entry point to then get the website URL, email address, logo, etc...
All these points comes from the v2.1 and we spend a lot of time on the v2.2 trying to improve this bad decision. Maybe because we trusted and loved too much Instagram 😍
Now with the v2.3 it's time to becomes "Instagram independent" ✊ by answering the following questions:
How to identify a company with info we are 99% sure to always have?
How to refresh instagram picture links frequently? Like every 2 weeks at least (before links die)
How to live without Instagram? 😫
This issue is definitely a bug because it blocks and breaks other main features
