You are seeing the package version in Ubuntu, not the version of the tools themselves. It's not a bug.
Oh, I didn't know they were different things, thank you for the information.
I suspect the initial problem is caused by an outdated version of the package in Ubuntu repositories. One should try the guest tools included in the guest tools ISO from XCP-ng, which already supports newer network interface names. Oops, wrong issue.
Xen Orchestra Web UI with XCP-NG 8.2.1 (all the patches installed) is reporting that the agent is 6.6.80-0, but in the CLI of the VM the version is 7.20.2
