Do you know if any others have opened the source code? In particular, my project was compiled with Borland.

sadly no, all others keep their centuries old stuff very closed :(

Huge bummer. I can't imagine it has any economic value. But also no economic value for them to make the effort to gather it all up into a tarball

Has anyone tried hunting down the current IP owners and offering a small payment to get it released?? Could raise money with crowdfunding perhaps

its often a problem with license problems of third parties or source code is lost or just no people around still knowing what legacy project your talking about - there is at least one 20 years old developer that sometimes stumbles over an borland_3.1_source_code folder on the company server not knowing anything about it :)

money and attention always helps - starting a growdfunding and letting all news-pages report about it could make it easier to get in contact - and i think some will spend money to get the source code
