For newbies like me : what's a "SBIR" ? What is a "PI" ? What means the word "neiche" ? Anyway I'm neither a regular worker, nor a researching nor a PI, but my curiosity knows no limits :-)
SBIR's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_Business_Innovation_Research
PI is used to say "principle investigator", ie. person with the PhD and departmental wherewithal to make things happen.
I just spelled "niche" wrong. My apologies :P
I think it's a great idea! Which kind of support letter are you looking for?
Pretty simple stuff really. I can send some example stuff. Bascially it would just be a letter saying, we (as the authors/devs of xtk) read the proposal that this group put together and think it is cool/ would be interested integrating it with other pieces in this grant. Any takers? I can have the primary writer email you some example wording.
this sounds great! we are happy to help with the letter of support and also with the proposal. could you email your proposal and the example wordings to dev@goxtk.com?
We never heard back from you @meawoppl so I am closing this issue now. If you still need anything, please let us know.
I am in the process of writing a SBIR for a largerish code project our company has in mind. Whether of not it is successful, I am interested in trying to fund some work on the XTK toolkit on the 6-12 month time frame.
My question is thus two-fold: 1.) Would anyone who regularly works with XTK be interested in filling this neiche? 2.) Would anyone be willing to sign a letter of support for the SBIR? This would preferably be a researcher/PI somewhere associated with this toolkit, but even just a developer would be helpful.
Great work guys.
Thanks.
