This repo vs. Rook operator? #3184

Curious what the difference is between this operator and the one offered by Rook (https://rook.io/docs/rook/v1.2/yugabytedb-cluster-crd.html). Is there a preference from Yugabyte's perspective?

Hi @mhamrah - these are just two different "ecosystems" in some sense. Not all of our users use rook, and some of them asked for a regular k8s operator. Plus, we are submitting to operator hub and getting YugabyteDB accessible to the Openshift ecosystem.

Regarding preference - not really, whatever you prefer! Either way, we would love to work with you to get your use-case running and help out if you find some missing functionality.

BTW, I just moved this issue from the yugabyte/yugabyte-operator to the main repo as this is a great question and useful for many folks trying YugabyteDB on k8s.
