I have been pondering about this for quite some time now (hence the late reply) and I still haven't figured out what the best solution is. I think you are right, that to some extent the user has learned a word, but it could also be confusing since it's not fully learned. I also keep thinking about what the censor said: Why did we go for the official terminology? Could this be a good opportunity to consider rephrasing the concept of receptive/productive knowledge in the frontend and make it more relatable for the user? Maybe something like "Correct! You understand this word. Next, you will learn how to use it."

could we already tell the user that they have learned this word receptively? Although the user would probably expect to see the word in the
Learned
tab then?
