The IBM seems to provide IBM z/OS Health Checker functionality that can be used to verify the state of the service running on the z/OS. The tool can be used for auditing of services whether they are running well and/or are configured properly.
@dkelosky Can you please provide further information so we can have a better discussion on TSC? And I believe you want to be included in the conversations on the TSC.
Supplemental: A “Good” Health Check
● Reporting on a condition that can be corrected - e.g. cleared of exception status
● Provide specific info in health checks:
○ “Update product configuration...” vs. “Update x value member y found in data
set z”
● Provide easy to follow, step by step instructions to correct exceptions
● For successful messages, explain what is set correct and why it makes everything
alright
● Don’t ship product defaults that result in a health check exception
