huckhuck55: Maybe a kill?
Ts: yea
huckhuck55: Would it be too silly to let them choose if they were to live wether they want to kill, protect, or investigate?
huckhuck55: Or they get 1 of each.
The8thSoul: Like a JOAT?
The8thSoul: [from Mafia]
huckhuck55: What does “joat” do? Never played mafia.
The8thSoul:
What does “joat” do? Never played mafia.
Jack of all Trades: Can Cop check, Doctor heal and Vigilante shoot once
The8thSoul: Cop is basically Aura Teller (but only sees Mafia or not Mafia)
The8thSoul: Doctor is a role that protects each night
The8thSoul: Vigilante is Assassin
huckhuck55: ah gotcha. so would that work for the twins? (surviving twin gains that perk but would obviously use it for the side they are aligned with.
Ts:
Would it be too silly to let them choose if they were to live wether they want to kill, protect, or investigate?
Not a fan.
huckhuck55: i feel like giving them just a little bonus for surviving might feel boring, cuz they would win their little battle and get rewarded with a thing that gets used fairly quickly and then they are just a cit pretty much. could it not be something they can do each night or day perhaps?
huckhuck55: like, as a reward for getting their twin killed
Ts: each night is what I was thinking
The8thSoul:
like, as a reward for getting their twin killed
gains immortality for exactly one attack, whether it be an action or day time lynching
The8thSoul: that would work for both
The8thSoul: basically, has a shield that lasts until they were to die
The8thSoul: kinda like scared wolf, but more OP
huckhuck55: Okay so, When the successor survives they gain the ability to attack someone each night. Immediate or at the end of the phase? Could also be a type of check each night or protect, whatever seems better.
Or, do you think evil would get something different than the good twin? Or no so there is still potential for either to blend in as their counterpart?
huckhuck55: So. This is what I summarize as the twins things.
Good twin, no disguise, evil twin disguised as good twin (strong) Evil = wolf team Good = town
Whoever survive gets the ability to kill each night
Any thoughts?
huckhuck55: Oh, and they don’t know each other. (Though they could if it’s better and more thematic to know each other)
The8thSoul: 🤔 having a packless killer might be a stretch... but otherwise sounds good to me
huckhuck55: Would a variant where the evil twin is a UA and they ascend when the good twin is killed be good?
huckhuck55: In this instance, the good twin might have the ability to attack the attacker (if wolf attacked) and take them down with them.
huckhuck55: (If they survive past the evil twin)
huckhuck55: Good twin gains ability to fight back against attacks Evil twin ascends if good twin dies first. (Again, a variant)
The8thSoul: interesting...
The8thSoul: but then it would kinda become a Riding Hood pair
huckhuck55: Well, good twin would always be town aligned no matter the variant. And the twins are always trying to get the other twin killed (RH is trying to be killed)
huckhuck55: RH - casts suss on themselves so wolves attack them Twins - trying to get their twin killed.
huckhuck55: TWINS!
The8thSoul:
triplets
huckhuck55:
good evil and neutral?
huckhuck55: just a little nudge.
anything that could be added to this role to make it more enticing or interesting?
huckhuck55: or is it perfect the way it is? 😎
!Phantomtomic: It’s okay, just feels a bit bland and unfinished atm
!Phantomtomic: We probably need to see if we’d need to add any further features and somewhat modify the reward and it should be good
huckhuck55:
It’s okay, just feels a bit bland and unfinished atm
Any thoughts on how to make it come alive? Ts mentioned that he didn’t think it should be too complicated, so I simplified it quite a bit. But maybe there’s something it needs that isn’t quite so simple? 🤔
huckhuck55: Hmm, thought for improving twins.
Before one of them gets killed, they start with some sort of investigate skill. But then when their counterpart dies they get a better skill. That way they aren’t just boring citizens at the beginning of the game, they can make plays.
huckhuck55: Using their powers, but the bigger threat to the opposite team comes when you get rid of the opposite team member.
The8thSoul: Good twin can investigate a player, evil twin can disguise a player
Then when one dies, good twin gains the ability to protect, evil twin gains the ability to kill?
huckhuck55: Hmm… I was thinking the twins beforehand have the same ability, so there is no way to confirm them for sure.
However, check vs disguise could actually play well together, though I feel the disguise has to last a while.
huckhuck55: Cuz, disguise could be a good way to say you checked the person. 🤔
huckhuck55: Then for the after one dies. They should be able to still stay hidden. That said, I guess they could with just how they play.
huckhuck55: Is perm disguise too strong?
The8thSoul:
Then for the after one dies. They should be able to still stay hidden. That said, I guess they could with just how they play.
maybe change the one can protect, one can kill to one use protect + one use kill
The8thSoul: or something like one use of whichever one u choose
huckhuck55: Oh sure. That’s interesting. Or even alternate per night.
huckhuck55: The Twins start on opposite alignments, (town and wolves) (or could both start UA) Their goal is to have their twin die.
Evil twin (packless) If the evil twin manages to get the good twin killed, the evil twin will acquire new abilities. (tbd)
Good twin if the good twin manages to get the evil twin killed, the good twin will acquire new abilities (tbd)
the twins both know each other and start in a private chat.
