!Phantomtomic:
This list can easily be summarised and the information on the types of info is only needed by GMs really
But the players need the types of info to know at least what roles they can use for their action
!Phantomtomic: And what options for each role
Ethan.:
like, way too strong
we're currently trying to reasonably balance it atm
Vera but actually a frog: denying it until then
Vera but actually a frog: we definitely need fully packless roles but this would seem too easy to gain info
Vera but actually a frog: just choose a ti until its the right one
Vera but actually a frog: ti generally cant afford to purposefully miss a check
Ts:
like, way too strong
how so?
Ts: at most it gets one check worth of info
Ts: which is equivalent to the info Warlock can gain
Ts: except Warlock can choose their target
Ts: Furthermore most investigative roles are either equivalent in power to Warlock or weaker, with the notable exception of Crowd Seeker, which I think is the only role that is stronger
Ts:
TI/WI - Learns the target and the check (e.g Targets FT learns Ts is Plague Bearer) Medium - Learns the Question asked and the result for that question Tanner - Learns targets and if one was a Wolfpack member Devil - if wager is used to investigate learns the result and target of that as well as the true identity of the wager recipient Reaper - if they use a check they learn the result of that Flute Charmer - Learns the role of the charmed player Recluse - learns the effects that target recluse and the identity of any wolfpack member that targets the recluse that night Herald - Learns if the last role that is the Herald's target dies and what role was targeted
Prophetic Hag too

The Baroness does gain two pieces of information on top of this: (a) They get a confirmation that the role they targeted is still alive - This is useful, sure, but I don't think it's all that strong (b) They know what info their enemy has - This is the strongest part of the role, but it's balanced out by the fact they can't target the same player twice
Ethan.: Oh right
Ts: Furthermore the role relies on the existence of powerful enemy roles, which creates an automatic negative feedback loop
Ts: (Which is good)
Ethan.: Oh
Ethan.: So to be powerful the enemy already needs to be powerful?
Ts: yea the Baroness is most effective when the enemy has powerful roles and least effective if the enemy does not
Ts: which seems like a pretty good automatic balancing thing (= negative feedback loop)
Captain Luffy: Why is it called baroness btw
Ts: The idea and name is from my rough role idea list which I took from some other games https://discord.com/channels/584765921332297775/810624940855787520/1025881492108361791
Ts: if anyone non-gm wants to see
Captain Luffy: What's the relation to wolves
Ethan.: In lore ig it's a rich woman who wants to help wolves kill the peasants
Ts:
if anyone non-gm wants to see
I opened threads for all of them at some point, which is why this one has such a low number: Maple Wolf -> Regretful Wolf Tarot Reader -> Cancelled Bloodmoon Cult -> Coyotes <#1026586407562653766> Alchemist -> Denied Farmer -> Still open <#1026586698236305468> Raven -> Cancelled(?) dont remember this one Baroness -> this Hollow Husk -> Denied, I think Necromancer -> Denied Horsemen -> Approved
Ts: Apparently the idea is from here: https://direwolfonline.com/baroness
Ts: The names are very chaotic there, so idk if there's a great reason
Ethan.: It fits the theme of packless lycanless wolves being evil humans
The8thSoul:
It fits the theme of packless lycanless wolves being evil humans
lmao
Ts: oh yea, that is true
The8thSoul: the cliche "I have power, therefore I'm evil" arc
Ts: The role is approved with 6 out 10 votes being ✅
Ts: Congrats
Ethan.: Tanner is mad so is therefore evil
Ts: Now you need to find a champion or postpone it <:gibagul:841358597983961128>
The8thSoul: Leper might be a good name too
Captain Luffy: Aren't you the op though
The8thSoul: For packless lycanless
Ts:
Now you need to find a champion or postpone it <:gibagul:841358597983961128>
<#1074806626948751430>
Ethan.: How many is it for senior GMs 2 or 3 in the end?
Ts:
Aren't you the op though
I gave the general idea, but Ethan made it into a role
Ts:
How many is it for senior GMs 2 or 3 in the end?
2
Ts:
Aren't you the op though
And my initial desc was just During the werewolf round, you are shown the last player checked by the seer.
Captain Luffy: Lol I don't think reaper will ever be unlimited
Captain Luffy: So I'm stuck forever
The8thSoul:
And my initial desc was just
During the werewolf round, you are shown the last player checked by the seer.
Did that mean night phase?
Ts: probably
Ts:
Rough Role Idea could we make it an active ability that if it can target one of the investigative roles and it can see their action that night if one exists
