I'm not sure what the hooks folder that it produces is. Can we please remove that for now? I don't think that needs to be a default but I could be misunderstanding as I am not sure what that is related to a pure python build!

The template creates both a pyproject.toml and a setup.py file. We can eliminate the setup.py for pure python packaging. can we remove it from the template?

The project defaults to using mkdocs for documentation but many in the community use sphinx. Could we have a docs option? sphinx vs mkdocs?

The last item is also optional - but some may not use or have VCS setup at all. In that case, choosing GitHub vs Gitlab could be confusing, too. I'm torn on this specific item, so i'll link to these comments in our slack as well for further discussion
